Abstract
The water discharge in the inlets to Lake Vänern were in general slightly higher than normal on an annual basis, especially in the northern part of the catchment area. The comparatively high water flow resulted in higher nutrient transport in the watercourses, although the variation between the different rivers as well between years is in many cases large. The nutrient concentrations have been on fairly high levels during the last couple of years, although the interannual variability is quite large. The levels of organic matter are quite stable in the inlets.
