Publication: Book/Report/ProceedingsReportResearch

Abstract

The weather in the Lake Vänern area has in recent years been characterized by large variability both between different months and between different parts of the area, and the weather in 2023 was no exception. Overall, the rainfall was much higher than normal, but with large differences during the year with a record warm and dry start to the summer which was then replaced by a wet period during the rest of the summer and parts of the autumn. The water level was basically higher than normal throughout the year. Only during January and December was the water level lower than or close to normal. The solar irradiation highly variable over the year, with the warm and sunny start of the summer that was exchanged to a sun poor period for the rest of the summer and partly covering the autumn as well.
