Abstract

Integrating nematode-based tools in environmental policy could be parallelized to a ‘holy grail’ in achieving a wider acceptance of this useful phylum and its utilization in environmental biomonitoring and in various nature conservation and restoration efforts. This chapter reviews environmental legislation and policies in various locations around the world and in relation to various environmental challenges and habitats. Unfortunately, the review confirms the lack of this integration but highlights its benefits for the environment and calls for action.
