CropSAT: kväverekommendationer och grödstatuskartering inom fält genom en kombination av satellitdata och N-sensorer

Abstract

We developed CropSAT, a web application for satellite-based production of variable-rate application (VRA) files for nitrogen. The system was developed and tested in 2014 and enhanced in 2015 within the framework of Focus-on-nutrients (Greppa Näringen). We conclude that vegetation index maps from satellite data can be used in practice as a cost-efficient tool for optimized nitrogen use. Even during the very cloudy year 2015, 3 or more useable images were generated for 2/3 of all arable land in Sweden in the period end of April to the first part of June. If the relative variation within fields are used for the VRA maps, also images 1-2 weeks old can be used. The relationship between satellite data and data from ground-based sensors as well as data from crop trials were assessed. Satellite maps can be calibrated by sensors on the ground and maps of e.g. N uptake can be made. Thousands of users have tested CropSAT which has the potential to be developed further.
