"The River Journey – a journey through time in the countryside". An exhibition at Lödöse Museum that formed part of the Digital Time Travels project, a collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The exhibition consisted of several sections, grouped together in a single exhibition hall. The sections, also known as ‘stations’, were as follows:A combined audiovisual and tactile model (multimodal) of the development of the Göta Älv landscape from the end of the last ice age (around 12,500 years ago) to the present day.
Two touchscreen-controlled applications where visitors could search for information about the history of the Älvdalen area.
A station with information about, and a physical replica of, the so-called Torque from the Vittene find. The station was later supplemented with the ability for users to use augmented reality technology to view, and even interact with, digital 3D models of four of the gold rings from Vittene. As the station’s design and content changed during the course of the exhibition, it has been given less weight in the compilation of results.In addition, there was a station where visitors could try out alternative reconstructions of artefacts based on fragments. This station lacked digital elements, but linked to parts of the content on the touchscreen applications. The station is therefore mentioned in this context solely to provide an accurate picture of the exhibition.
